TRAVEL TO MOVIES: THE KID WHO WOULD BE KING

Director: Joe Cornish
Cast: Louis George Serkis ,Tom Taylor , Patrick Stewart , Rebecca Ferguson , Denise Gough , Angus Imrie , Dean Chaumoo , Rhianna Dorris , Amir Wilson , Nick Mohammed , Louis Martin
Plot: Alex is an ordinary British schoolboy with everyday problems. One day, he discovers the mythical sword Excalibur and is now in possession of the most powerful sword in history. With this, an evil villain named Morgana appears to destroy the world. Alex and his friends must defeat her and save the world.

My Movie Review: The movie is goofy adventure that entertain in a blast but not spontaneous! The Kid Who Would Be King calls on modern take of Arthurian legend for the tween set that do good in children sake and young at heart yet doesn't really satisfy the adult thinking individuals! Louis George Serkis is really cute looks chubby on the face but not really fat in the body when I'm a child wish to look like that yet me it's the opposite look thin in the face but fat in the body:) It has glimpse of brilliance when it comes from fight scenes like students on training for a battle and adorable humor coming from the best friend I can relate to that just like me and my friend:) What makes feel off is the uneven ride the transition from one scene to another is not polish the supposed final act disappoint and my friend said that's it while I'm still rooting for it and I'm right the last make it feel grand with impressive school effort though it seem stretch and longer!

Movie News: We have our first major box office flop of 2019. The Kid Who Would Be King, Fox's new kid-friendly take on the legend of King Arthur is, unfortunately, going to walk away with the distinction. The movie open this past weekend and numbers were far from impressive for almost any movie, let alone a giant fantasy blockbuster with a huge marketing budget. With that taken into account, Fox could stand to lose tens of millions of dollars as a result. According to insiders at rival studios, the movie could lose as much as $50 million. As of this writing, it's grossed just $10.8 million worldwide, including $7.5 million domestically. Granted, it still has quite a few markets to open in around the world like United Kingdom where expected to have a reasonably large audience. For what it's worth doesn't account for home video sales and other ancillary revenue streams. Fox expect that international box office ticket sale bring profitability:)

TRAVEL TO MOVIES: GLASS

Director: M. Night Shyamalan
Cast: James McAvoy , Anya Taylor-Joy , Bruce Willis , Sarah Paulson , Samuel L. Jackson , Spencer Treat Clark , Luke Kirby , Charlayne Woodard , Adam David Thompson , Matt Jacobs
Plot: This movie serves as the sequel to two M. Night Shyamalan titles, "Split" and "Unbreakable". It sees the return of David Dunn, a security guard with supernatural abilities. This time he is on a mission to pursue and apprehend Kevin Wendell Crumb, who suffers from dissociative identity disorder, with a total of 24 different personalities including The Beast. In the midst of the action, the two will encounter Elijah Prince, an incarcerated mass murderer that holds secrets concerning both men.

My Movie Review: The movie is impressive for a regular viewer but for the critic it's otherwise! Glass is such a tease giving us access to the past we never expect before and after it was all said and than we know nothing at all on what's ahead in this superhero trilogy nice is very now! This movie is clever but not clever enough the characters were limit in few places it would be better if there were beyond the mental facility and felt like their ability was not fully unleashed:0 James McAvoy is the center of attention felt like he stole the show wish it went to new direction Split was his thing this is like sequel to that there's not much add factor it must be about Glass! It's really enjoyable on so many levels as a movie but as conclusion to the trilogy is not enough they missed a golden opportunity when they choose to be small and personal where in fact they could be big and epic-- the last act may leave some silver linings that's worthy to debacle!!

Movie News: At the very end of his last film, 2016’s Split, M. Night Shyamalan pulled off a twist that made his previous ones look like gentle curves. Revealing that multi-personality serial killer Kevin Wendell Crumb (McAvoy) exists in the same universe as Unbreakable’s David Dunn (Willis). The answer, Glass, is a thriller that’s undeniably bold, but which struggles to mesh together the two moods in an effective fashion. Kevin is the character who dominates the film, with McAvoy on stand-out form again, toggling effortlessly between different voices and emotions, and managing to keep The Beast frightening even with prolonged screen time. But after a relatively action-packed opening that climaxes with Dunn squaring off against the supernatural maniac, both of them are confined to a creepy asylum, along with the titular Mr Glass (Samuel L Jackson) and the film slows to Unbreakable pace and (Sarah Paulson) snap!!

TRAVEL TO MOVIES: MARY POPPINS RETURNS

Director: Rob Marshall
Cast: Emily Blunt , Dick Van Dyke , Lin-Manuel Miranda , Meryl Streep , Angela Lansbury , Collin Firth , Ben Whishaw , Emily Mortimer , Julie Walters , Joel Dawson , Noma Dumezweni
Plot: In 1935, during the Great Depression era in the United Kingdom, the enigmatic Mary Poppins returns to visit the now grown-up Jane and Michael Banks, along with Michael's children - Annabel, Georgie and John - after they suffer a family tragedy that left them numb and joyless. With her magical skills and the help of her friend, Jack, Mary is set on helping the family rediscover the joy and wonder of life.

My Movie Review: The movie is magical brings you back to the things you never experience but has fragments of your childhood with big production number your senses will be delighted:) Mary Poppins Returns is this year opening musical we look forward to see like in recent years Annie, Les Misérables, Joyful Noise, Into The Woods, LaLa Land and The Greatest Showman! Georgie Banks maybe the cutest kid I've seen in the big screen his expression was adorable and funny at times perfectly cast really capture my palate hit in the heart strings when he sing:) Lin-Manuel Miranda is another standout his star in the Broadway might be at it's peak but this is the first time I really appreciate his talent and gift- very impressive in choreograph ensemble! The animation looks tacky in the trailer that's why there's hesitation to watch or not to watch this flick yet I'm glad I see it! turned out the animation is well put together as the whole feature:)

Critics Consensus: Mary Poppins Returns relies on the magic of its classic forebear to cast a familiar but still solidly effective family-friendly spell. It's well crafted, well acted, and features some terrific live-action/animation combos. But it never quite achieves lift off, which is a big problem for a musical especially this musical... Still, I suppose momentary joy is better than no joy at all. I loved it-and while that doesn't mean I can ignore its problems, I left it feeling that a little something had been restored to me rather than taken away. It may seem unfair to compare the two movies, yet this sequel, with its deliberate nods to the original, is made to encourage just that. I think it's what the filmmakers expect us to do. Emily Blunt that half-smile, that mischievous look, that voice that at a key moment becomes hoarse, that musical number of vaudeville in which it participate, warn us that this Mary Poppins is far from being the perfect and virginal lady of 1964. It's 50 percent sequel, 50 percent reboot and 100 percent charming:)

TRAVEL TO MOVIES: BUMBLEBEE

Director: Travis Knight
Cast: Hailee Steinfeld , Dylan O'Brien , Jorge Lendeborg Jr. , John Cena , Angela Bassett , Peter Cullen , Justin Theroux , Kenneth Choi , John Ortiz , Pamela Adlon , Stephen Schneider
Plot: Twenty years before the events of the first film, in 1987, Bumblebee takes refuge in a small California beach town junkyard, where a teenage girl named Charlie Watson takes him in. However, the two of them soon find themselves hunted by a government agency known as Sector 7 led by Agent Burns. As they run from society, the two learn that Bee isn't the only Transformer on Earth, and that the others might not be as friendly.

My Movie Review: The movie is gold in a heart beat and spirit but short on adrenaline rush! Bumblebee is like fulfilling a child like fantasy of a robot with a softer side yet less action more drama is happening here I miss the hard heavy approach pound for pound action I got use too! It's like Transformers for babies or child-like with all cotton candy you can chew the sweetness when you taste it but will leave you nothing after that bite although it's easy to watch teen flick:) I'm so glad it got higher ratings and positive reviews with critics I wish I felt that too cause I root for this movie in the first place I said before why they make stand-alone movie for Bumblebee? And they did my wish was granted since Bumblebee is the most like character in Transformers I just didn't expect it will turned out this way I want to love this film but I have to be honest on what I felt I'm disappointed to say the least but my friend like this maybe its a preference thing?

Critics Consensus: Bumblebee proves it's possible to bring fun and a sense of wonder back to a bloated blockbuster franchise -- and sets up its own slate of sequels in the bargain. If only not being terrible was the same as being good; Bumblebee is still just reheated nostalgia. The movie works in large part because of the depth of Steinfeld's performance. We haven't seen such a well-realized character in any of the other Transformers movies. Compared to the previous 'Transformers' movies, Bumblebee is a breath of fresh air, emotional and surprisingly honest. A significant course correction for the series but only a modest success. A blockbuster about robots that feels anything but robotic, and not really like a blockbuster. The central relationship is as solid as B:127; I did cry and they played the best Duran Duran song. A mildly watchable, geared-towards-small-children diversion that could (and should) have been better:()

TRAVEL TO PLACES: PHILIPPINES-- CAFE MARY GRACE

My Personal Experience: I went to Cafe Mary Grace Makati last year December 30, 2018, together with my sister. We went there to dine in a busy night and everyone is in holiday spirit:) Where most people go out to eat on restaurants or hangout in typical cool place like Greenbelt. Cafe Mary Grace is comfy and has a homey vibe despite crowded setting there's still harmony!

Cafe Mary Grace
Its been months since the family's last visit to this branch in Greenbelt. Amidst all the regular weekly pigging out in different restaurants, we suddenly felt a pang for all things Mary Grace. With indoor and comfortable outdoor seating Cafe Mary Grace in the elegant Greenbelt 2 serves delicious fare with imaginative main dishes and  desserts. Great place to park oneself. Cafe Mary Grace is my favorite restaurant. However, this branch was not as relaxing as their other branches. It's noisier and busier, even when we were already seated at the second floor!!

TRAVEL TO MOVIES: HAUNTING ON FRATERNITY ROW

Director: Brant Sersen
Cast: Jacob Artist , Jayson Blair , Shanley Caswell , Cameron Moulène , Chester Rushing , Claudia Lee , Ashton Moio , Breon Pugh , Stephanie Honoré , Eduardo Losan , Chris Lightfoot
Plot: A fraternity throws its last ever winter luau, but when fraternity brothers and coeds begin dying horrible deaths, they discover an evil entity has taken over the house. Its teenage movie with a bunch of silly brats making a heck of a party. The haunting spirits of the house must've mixed in muscarine in the beweage.

My Movie Review: The movie is a frat party flick disguise as a horror were lots of body are on display instead of scary you might feel little bit different turn on party mode living it up all night:) Good than you think when your thinking less it may surprise in the end with unexplained turned of events like quick random kills that doesn't make sense but totally works in this kind of movie! The Party Chaser is the initial title as indicated in some posters and I think was better to stay that way since half of it is about partying but Haunting On Fraternity Row sounds much scarier! Claudia Lee was standout in the trailer as she lead a bunch of girls coming to get pump up as Jayson Blair leading the frat boys with his enigmatic charisma while baby sitting his brother Chester Rushing who kept popping out a drunk bunny that like partying despite being banned:)

Movie News: Better than I expected at least with a title like this it feels like the movie has little hope of being anything but a dumb, lowest common denominator fear flick. This isn't that. Honestly, it kind of felt like Scream 2 by way of James Wan. The guys unwittingly unlock an ancient evil hidden beneath the house which begins to wreak havoc during the massive, and I do mean massive party. The plot is pretty straight forward and the acting and characterization are surprisingly solid. There is a fair amount of humor that's totally organic to the situation and a little nudity both male and female. This movie really isn't half bad and I suggest paying to see it, supporting the creators, and checking out whatever comes next from them because with a little improvement, they might make something really worthwhile next time. And it did the finale is a strong, chaotic set piece with a higher and less predictable body count than you may think!

TRAVEL TO PLACES: PHILIPPINES-- AYALA NIGHTLIFE

My Personal Experience: I went to Ayala Greenbelt Makati last year December 30, 2018, together with my sister. We went there to relive the nightlife it's been a while since our last visit! When in Ayala the first see are the lights the city shimmer at night mostly during the second half of the year as the holiday come to approach restaurants put some decor as people dine in!

Ayala Nightlife
Makati is one of the major party places in Metro Manila. Makati City transforms from its daytime business setting into an almost surreal realm of mood lights, genre music, nocturnal cuisine and privileged intoxication. Crafted beers and mixed cocktails represent the city’s energetic and vibrant cosmopolitan lifestyle hub, Ayala Center. But happy hour isn’t limited to Makati bars in Jupiter Street. It's in the stretch of Legazpi Village within Ayala Center and other villages where people look forward to spreading the joys of Manila’s way of living and nightlife:)

TRAVEL TO MOVIES: BEN IS BACK

Director: Peter Hedges
Cast: Julia Roberts , Lucas Hedges , Courtney B. Vance , Kathryn Newton , Alexandra Park
Plot: Follows the charming yet troubled Ben Burns (Hedges), who returns home to his unsuspecting family one fateful Christmas Eve. Ben's wary mother Holly Burns (Roberts) welcomes her beloved son's return, but soon learns he is still very much in harm's way. During the 24 hours that may change their lives forever, Holly must do everything in her power to avoid the family's downfall.

My Movie Review: The movie is a mother-son drama that tackles addiction and trying it sober! Ben Is Back take turns on the life of a teenage boy coming home unexpectedly after a longer time not seeing his family as the mother do she can to make her son healthy and safe in harm! The story unravel when someone took their dog after coming home from sister performance in school as for Ben haunted by his past wrong doings he had to find people that disgust him while looking for the dog mother come to Ben instead after ditching her in a convenience store! It's cold weather feature that will warm hearts for the mother's love to her son and undeniable rawness of Ben that somewhat relatable in more ways than one like trying save his family by making a deal the gang that my put him in danger and his selfless act by putting love-one first:)

Critics Consensus: Refreshingly understated, Ben Is Back subverts family drama stereotypes and provides a forum for terrific performances from Lucas Hedges and Julia Roberts. This is an intimate, incredibly tense drama about a troubled family battling raw emotional pains, a bare-bones and bare-knuckled look at the destructive powers of addiction. The movie's real achievement lies in Roberts's performance, which is possibly her best. Holly is incandescent with worry. She's good and kind and intimate. A compelling and intelligent study of how drug addiction affects a family... The film falls apart in the end, alas, as the story spins into druggie melodramatics. Julia Roberts... takes hold of this movie like a lamppost in the winter darkness!!
