TRAVEL TO MOVIES: INTUITION

Director: Alejandro Montiel
Cast: Luisana Lopilato , Joaquín Furriel , Rafael Ferro , Delfina Chaves , Maite Lanata , Sebastián Mogordoy , Marita Ballesteros , Juan Manuel Guilera , Abel Ayala , Lindsay Seim (V)
Plot: Police officer Pipa works on her first big case while simultaneously investigating her boss, who is suspected of murder. The prequel to "Perdida". Renegade detective Francisco Juanez (Joaquín Furriel) is dragging his skeptical colleagues deep into a dark forest where he believes a serial kidnapper of young girls will be. He's following his, ahem, intuition, despite the recommendations of those around him, they must solve the violent murder of a 19 year old girl.

My Movie Review: The movie is pretty chill crime thriller that often entrails a discovery of body and sorts of secret's that stir the pot into a game of chance that caught in the middle of a tread! Intuition is a kind of movie that create sub-stories other than the main story like the opening scene when a biker was hit by a car during night time in a park' that alone give layer of interest! So don't understand why most people don't like it based on I see online yes you know the drill detective hunting the killer but this has more depth than that somehow I get the suspense trail:) Perdida first before watching this prequel you'll have better appreciation to the character lead 'Pipa' Pelari as you join her in search of justice you'll also find the connection of this two films in the last screens quite alike but give you a different vibe Pipa walking down the street and passing by the mother in law and then going on her way while the other Pipa walking down the street and passing her best friend who have been missing or dead has now become's stranger!

Critic Reviews: Hardcore crime fans are the prime audience, but they're already heavily catered to elsewhere by writers with far more ingenuity. This is everything they've seen before. So-so subtitled crime thriller has language, violence. La Corazonada's poor production values, stiff acting and uninspired script writing generates all vast amount of involuntary chuckles, making it harder to keep a straight face as by-the-numbers plot boringly unveils. The myriad twists upon turns in the finale might convince you, but "Intuition (La Corazonada)" has been an eye-rollingly routine police procedural up to that point. At the risk of sounding glibly dismissive, Intuition is boring and it sucks. [Luisana Lopilato and Joaquín Furriel] alternately occupy the screen... and they carry all the weight. Intuition (La Corazonada) is a police procedural in which respected homicide detective is suspect's of committing retaliatory murder!

TRAVEL TO PLACES: PHILIPPINES-- SAN NICOLAS HOME

TRAVEL TO MOVIES: THE LOVEBIRDS

Director: Michael Showalter
Cast: Issa Rae , Kumail Nanjiani , Paul Sparks , Anna Camp , Kyle Bornheimer, Moses Storm , Barry Rothbart , Catherine Cohen , Aaron Abrams , Jaren Mitchell , Kelly Murtagh , Joe Chrest
Plot: On the brink of breaking up, a couple (Issa Rae & Kumail Nanjiani) experiences a defining moment in their relationship when they unintentionally embroiled in a murder mystery. As their journey to clear their names takes them from one extreme and hilarious circumstance to the next, they must figure out how they, and their relationship, can survive the mischief night!

My Movie Review: The movie is funnier than expected the mishap make this work it's about a couple whose relationship is put to the test when a crime upends their visit to a friend's house:) The Lovebirds is a little hard to rate as the film equally has stuff I liked and disliked jokes are hit-and-miss not the best that we've seen Issa Rae and Kumail Nanjiani but enjoyable at most:) Driving one evening to a dinner party, they have other argument and realize their relationship is over then they crash into murderous criminal situation run off involving an occult secret society! Kumail Nanjiani and Issa Rae are both good and have decent chemistry but the film lets them down with its poor, bland, and lazily-written script. There are few minutes with genuine laughs but ultimately, 'The Lovebirds' just felt tired by the end of its actually short run the amazing race footage make look cheap and final fight scene is less thrilling than it should be quite off putting! Saving it is the crisis activates the stars' comedic chops and provides the film with its best bits:)

Critics Consensus: If the breezily enjoyable The Lovebirds feels like a little less than the sum of its parts, it's still an enjoyable showcase for the talents of its well-matched stars. Issa Rae and Kumail Nanjiani display expert timing as the unhappy couple caught up a deadly criminal case. It is unlikely to be remembered as anything more than a diversionary lark. But it does stand as a testament to the ways in which the right actors can elevate even the most lackluster of material. An innocuous and lightweight but likable and funny screwball crime comedy. Even if you can sort of guess where things are going much of the time, it is still fun to watch them get there. The Lovebirds might have underwhelmed in a movie theater but works just fine in the very different circumstances in which it has been unveiled. Here's the thing this movie isn't very good. In fact it's forgettable and not that funny. I just finished it an hour ago and it's starting to drift from my memory already. They work well romantically, in my opinion...the love scenes are sweet and believable, sweet while it lasts though...they even argue like a real couple...for real:)

TRAVEL TO MOVIES: THE WRONG MISSY

Director: Tyler Spindel
Cast: David Spade , Lauren Lapkus , Nick Swardson , Geoff Pierson , Molly Sims , Vanilla Ice , Sarah Chalke , Jackie Sandler , Chris Witaske , Rob Schneider , John Farley , Candace Smith
Plot: When Tim Morris meets his dream girl and their relationship quickly escalates through texts, he throws caution to the wind and invites her to his company's corporate retreat on an island resort... However, when a past blind date from hell shows up at the airport for the weekend getaway going Hawaii he learn it's too late that he's been texting "The Wrong Missy"!!

My Movie Review: The movie is a solid light-hearted comedy that makes laugh out loud in no place and no time this fiasco is so wrong and bit embarrassing' they get right so perfect love it:) The Wrong Missy is ridiculous and outrageous in every way makes us enjoy moments that are cringe worthy thanks for its boldness' it break boundaries and set a new bar in comedy movies! David Spade looks a bit different I didn't know it was him until I look to the credits glad to see him in a lead role and the main guy if there's hierarchy among comedy actors his up high bar! Lauren Lapkus is such a surprise with spontaneous attitude, live-for-the-moment loose cannon who catapults the weekend and Tim’s life into crazy town she make you love her unexpectedly! Nick Swardson also up a bar from extra to best friend of the lead while Vanilla Ice and Rob Schneider move down a notch just cameo and extra but still they made the cut' totally enjoy it:0

Critics Consensus: Lauren Lapkus lifts The Wrong Missy above abject failure, but this lazy comedy will be the wrong option for all but the most Happy Madison-starved viewers. Lapkus embarrasses herself with confidence. Her full-throttle verve transcends the script like a water skier leaping over a Great White. One can't shake the impression that Spade has been handed his unwanted leftovers. It's far from even "50 First Dates," another island-set Sandler-land rom-com, but in a weird way, "The Wrong Missy" works. I was vaguely amused here and there. Lauren Lapkus, who till now has mostly languished in supporting roles, is generously given space to shine - and she is resplendent. "The Wrong Missy" is a lightweight throwaway, the kind of movie it is difficult to suggest one actually choose to watch, but if your algorithm somehow lands on it provides certain harmless diversion. A raunchy comedy that has enough laughs to earn a passing grade. Give that Lauren Lapkus the Best Actress Oscar' you cowards!

TRAVEL TO MOVIES: THE HALF OF IT

Director: Alice Wu
Cast: Leah Lewis , Daniel Diemer , Alexxis Lemire , Wolfgang Novogratz , Catherine Curtin , Collin Chou , Becky Ann Baker , Enrique Murciano , Gabi Samels , Alec Tincher , Tyler Crozier
Plot: Shy, straight-A student Ellie is hired by sweet but inarticulate jock Paul, who needs help winning over a popular girl. But their new and unlikely friendship gets complicated when Ellie discovers she has feelings for the same girl.

My Movie Review: The movie is unconventional coming of age story about teens confronting their feelings to their crush as one help the other without realizing she's developing feeling too!! The Half Of It is a rare look on a possible girl to girl romance without being touchy it's mostly implied but you get the idea when they start confessing their thoughts and reactions towards her as one finds courage in dating despite shyness as other expresses by text that get the girl:) I have to be honest at first I don't like this film specially Ellie's attitude and vibe but it started to make sense along the way as Paul and Ellie follow Astrid as the rest of film felt smoothly such as the date in the diner were things got a little weird but in a good way they connect eventually! Daniel Diemer look so familiar even if this is the first time we're seeing him what I like about his acting is how he capture the boy insecurities towards dating girls in general very convincing and relatable on the flip side' Leah Lewis deliver the message across that what you feel matter!

Critics Consensus: For viewers in search of an uncommonly smart, tender, and funny coming-of-age story, The Half of It has everything. If The Half of It lacks the pizzazz and energy of similar Netflix fare, and doesn't have much to say beyond its initial setup, it at least takes a stab at doing something different. An endearing teen romance that handles sexual orientation with a light touch. By telling a personal tale inspired by elements of her own young life, Wu achieves both singularity and universality. And it helps a great deal that the actress functioning as her stand-in has such a smart and compelling screen presence. It's a charming, light comedy that goes down easy. It's so tenderhearted and transporting, its characters so likable, that you can't help but want to give the movie and everyone in it a big hug. Wu does a lot of work in this film with various themes. She doesn't care about the storybook ending that some viewers may have been dying for- she chooses something much more real. The Half of It actually manages to make character's expectations in the wake of that big scene feel genuine:)

TRAVEL TO PLACES: PHILIPPINES-- NUMBER 1 BARBECUES

My Personal Experience: I went to Number 1 Barbecues Resto this year January 16, 2020, together with my former office mate. We went there to meet for the third time and eat delicious! Number 1 Barbecues has been around near my area for quite sometime but this is my first eat here and I'm quite surprise 'how good and tender the meat at cheap price' its a great year start!

Number 1 Barbecues
Low-priced meals, wide variety of entrees! This resto had its soft opening only two weeks ago, tucked in the remote corner of the 3rd floor of the SM North Edsa City Center Mall. The huge banners are all over the atrium, announcing unli-rice and soup one free drink until September 30. This promo was more than enough to attract curious diners. Including yours truly. Not surprisingly, there was a long queue at the counter where you place your order. It gave us enough time to look at their menu, which included Filipino, Japanese, American, Korean, and Greek entrees. They all looked good, so we had a hard time choosing. The selections ranged from P99 to P180, to fit anyone's budget and still have a great meal. Delicious food we should taste. We visited restaurant around 5pm when there was short lines at counter. Tried their sisig and that was delicious and little bit spicy, just nice. Food came quickly their staff were friendly:0

TRAVEL TO MOVIES: RICH IN LOVE

Director: Bruno Garotti
Cast: Giovanna Lancellotti , Danilo Mesquita , Jaffar Bambirra , Lellê , Alok , Bruna Griphao , Fernanda Paes Leme , Caio Paduan , Oscar Calixto , Júlio Uchoa , Jeniffer Dias , Maria Rizza
Plot: A man working at his wealthy father's business traps himself in a lie when he falls in love with a woman and tries to convince her that he comes from more humble beginnings. Rich kid Teto is determined to prove himself to Paula, his love interest. But when he tells her he grew up poor, the lie spins out of control.

My Movie Review: The movie is contagiously funny in unexpected ways sweet and romantic to be a undercover lover pretending to poor when he's rich is not new and the predictability may throw others off but the way they did it make this special a feel-good romance through out! Ricos De Amor is rich in cheesy and cliche antics what saves its genuine approach focusing on character development the lead stars even the supporting casts have their own story to follow! Love how it ends with tomato or plantation on each roof decks looking the city with aerial view like that is so rewarding make's wanna care more on the environment rom-com with a purpose! When Teto and Paula meet, they let go of all their inhibitions and soon become deeply involved in each other's life wish its like that in real life even we run high on uncertainty we can trust a stranger you connect and find grace ease in expressing sensuality that could feel like paradise!

More Description: The film starts with Teto, waking up in bed with a woman whose name is forgotten after a night together. He is then met with a life-changing decision his father has made on his birthday- to cut off his funds until he can work a job and prove his merit. Teto’s dad owns ‘Trancoso Tomatoes,’ and having lived a luxurious life of pure bliss, Teto is more bothered about the car he wants than the job his father has already arranged for him in the company. Soon after, at his birthday party that happens amidst the famous Tomato Festival, he meets Paula. Paula is a final year medical student ignoring the passes of a senior doctor to qualify as a resident doctor in a hospital.‘Rich in Love’ starring Danilo Mesquita and Giovanna Lancellotti is a romance film that brings together two individuals from different walks of life. Set mostly in the heart of Rio de Janeiro, the film is a comical take on the ‘rich bad boy falls in love’ archetype. The film is weaved together with its central characters who switch identities, fall in love, and soar to success in the end. Igor is married to Alana and all the characters are happy:)
