TRAVEL TO MOVIES: HOLIDATE

Director: John Whitesell
Cast: Emma Roberts , Luke Bracey , Kristin Chenoweth , Frances Fisher , Andrew Bachelor , Jessica Capshaw , Alex Moffat, Cynthy Wu , Jake Manley , Manish Dayal , Brooke Jaye Taylor
Plot: Fed up with being single on holidays, two strangers agree to be each other's platonic plus-ones all year long, only to catch real feelings along the way.

My Movie Review: The movie is a jolly affair far from perfect but has perfect moments with its smart concept of having a date for every holiday and somebody to spend time with your family! Holidate is really fun and hilarious showing what we do on each occasion its just enjoyable to watch how it come together but some holiday's were cut short I wish they extend some scenes or do more in that certain holiday to make the moment last nevertheless I've had amazing time! Emma Roberts is kinda cheesy here but it works and do her a favor I haven't seen a good comedy romance in a while sometimes we just need these movies you'll know predict the end:) Luke Bracey is a surprise leading man I didn't expect how smooth he is the accent is also good to hear his added value to the film this rom-com setting works for best tall guys like him will make girls smitten and giddy at the same time or even fall in love if you by chance to dig deep!!

Critics Consensus: Holidate's self-aware approach to rom-com formula is refreshing, but it's offset by a questionable premise and unnecessarily vulgar jokes. I wish the film had the guts to sit here longer, but, instead, it continues with the unnecessary chaos... Holidate falls in the bland no-man's land between being sharp enough to appeal to adults (à la Bridesmaids) and tame enough to watch with the whole family. The best thing that "Holidate" has going for it is that Roberts and Bracey do have great chemistry, but they just don't have a story or a script that can do it justice. Holidate may be the movie equivalent of Peeps -- without substance, artificially flavored, consumed as an afterthought -- but Roberts is the bright dye that will make you forget the time it made you gag. "Holidate" won't change your mind about the tread-worn challenges of romantic comedies, but its leads leverage their charms nicely. Holidate's rancid self-awareness and a complete lack of sincerity rule the holidate in this shallow wide rom-com!!

TRAVEL TO PLACES: PHILIPPINES-- BEDROOM LIGHT

My Personal Experience: I went to watch in a Bedroom Light last year September 28, 2020, together with my mom sleeping on the other bed. At first I was alone in the room watching Sleepless on Netflix cause the movie was chill I started to capture my reaction feels as I watch! Bedroom Light that afternoon is not that bright guess I light up the room in some ways- happy:)

Bedroom Light
Room Light - light that provides general illumination for a room. Light Source, Light - any device serving as a source of illumination; "he stopped the car and turned off the lights". Room - an area within a building enclosed by walls and floor and ceiling; "the rooms were very small but they had a nice view". Which light is good for bedroom? Soft white/warm white (2700 Kelvins): Best for bedrooms and living rooms; providing a traditional warm, cozy feel to them. Bright white/cool white (4100 Kelvins): Best in kitchens, bathrooms or garages; giving rooms a whiter, more energetic feel. What does it mean to light up a room? Either to turn on the lights in the room or it's used as a compliment meaning someone is beautiful or their energy is so good!

TRAVEL TO MOVIES: REBECCA

Director: Ben Wheatley
Cast: Lily James , Armie Hammer , Kristin Scott Thomas , Ashleigh Reynolds , Keeley Hawes , Ann Dowd , Sam Riley , Bill Paterson , Mark Lewis Jones , Pippa Winslow , John Hollingworth
Plot: A young newlywed arrives at her husband's imposing family estate on a windswept English coast and finds herself battling the shadow of his first wife, Rebecca, whose legacy lives on in the house long after her death.

My Movie Review: The movie is goth glamour from the lovely costumes, picturesque scenery to high-end interiors even the attractive cast there's something sophisticated and class about it! Rebecca started with bright light as Lily James dazzle with costumes that are to die for charm little blouses and tweed skirts she wear when return to Manderley with manly husband Maxim:) Once in the mansion suddenly the vibe turned dark and you can feel the dredd as mysterious things start to unravel where Mrs. Danvers the housekeeper resides who disapprove and will not accept the young wife as the mistress of the house she adds creep and secrecy to the film! Kristin Scott Thomas indeed a force to be reckon with her strong features and acting reputation she's perfectly cast as she screams goth glamour- epitome of grace leaving lasting impression! All in all it was a crisp cold experience as Armie Hammer grips with the terrible secret about the death of his first wife still remain a mystery but what more impressive is how he managed to remain monotonous all throughout the film' acting with restrain not one can do that's a talent!

Critics Consensus: Ben Wheatley's Rebecca remake is ravishing to behold, but it never quite gets to the heart of the classic source material or truly justifies its own existence. Overall, it's a highly polished and consistently enjoyable watch that feels little hemmed in by convention. This is a melodramatic tale of class disparity and imposter syndrome and compulsive jealousy and explosive fury, and the execution here is just tepid. Lukewarm. This Rebecca is a worthwhile blend of old and new, and should be enough to tempt you to go to Manderley again. Everyone behaves themselves in this one whereas the point of the book and the first movie is that our worst behavior floating below the waterline, ready to bob the surface at wrong moment. Making a period film like Rebecca in the modern age requires a deft touch. In the end, viewers may feel like the new Mrs. de Winter and want to get away from Manderley any way possible. This is not the 1940 Oscar-winning Alfred Hitchcock Rebecca, nor does it want to be; rather, it's a new adaptation of the novel. It's not reaching the level of excellence that Hitchcock made, this Version of Rebecca is a bright new interpretation, ripe for the new audience' to discover today:)

TRAVEL TO PLACES: PHILIPPINES-- SECOND SAMGY NIGHT

My Personal Experience: I went to have a Second Samgy Night last year August 23, 2020, together with our neighbor in the province. Since its the second time they invite me I offered to help in cooking the meats! I'm the alternate grill boy that night once the one how grill got tired I'm the one who cook few mini hotdogs, slice onions and bacon strips, its a blast I had fun time!

Second Samgy Night
Directly translated from Korean, samgyeop-sal (삼겹살) means "three layer flesh," referring to striations of lean meat and fat in the pork belly that appear as three layers when cut. Preparation: Thick, fatty slices of pork belly, sometimes with the skin left on and sometimes scored on the diagonal, are grilled on a slanted metal griddle or a gridiron at the diners' table, inset with charcoal grills or convex gas burners. Usually, diners grill the meat themselves, flipping and cutting them with tongs and scissors, and eat directly from the grill. Consumption: Grilled meat is placed on fresh and/or pickled leaves of vegetables, with some ssamjang, and rolled up to make wrap which is eaten in one mouthful. Any combination of accompaniments mentioned above can be add to the roll according to preference, most popularly its slice garlic:)

TRAVEL TO MOVIES: A BABYSITTER'S GUIDE TO MONSTER HUNTING

Director: Rachel Talalay
Cast: Tamara Smart , Oona Laurence , Tom Felton , Indya Moore , Cameron Bancroft , Ian Ho, Ty Consiglio , Alessio Scalzotto , Crystal Balint , Anisa Harris , Ricky He , Tamsen McDonough
Plot: Recruited by a secret society of babysitters, a high schooler battles the Boogeyman and his monsters when they nab the boy she's watching on Halloween.

My Movie Review: The movie is whimsical kid teen supernatural that doesn't scare much but amuse in visual effects there's something quirky on it could use more tricks to go with its treats! A Babysitter's Guide To Monster Hunting is fun experiment of ideas that exceed perception but limited in execution good start by the way caught my attention right away unfortunately towards the middle I got lost so scenes are just slipping away don't know if I lost focus or it turn out bad! Tamara Smart has a pleasing on-screen presence she plays a high school freshman named Kelly some calls her Monster Girl because of a story she's told about the scary creature who visited her in the night when she was a child at one night she babysits the angel-faced Ian Ho:) Oona Laurence looks great here love the hair color and the whole look in no time her tough girl Liz Lerue shows up on her scooter with her perky bob and an arsenal of smart-ass one-liners to help Liz as she explains' is part of a secret society of babysitters who hunt monsters so cool!

Critic Reviews: Gorgeously imagined settings, a great cast, and an exciting story that hits the exact sweet spot between funny-scary and scary-funny. It's hard to figure out exactly what Talalay and Co. are aiming for here. Babysitter's Guide is never truly scary but it's also never all that funny. The film often sinks beneath the weight of its viscous plot. However, it burbles and thrives in moments that rely on aesthetics over story... The film feels more programmed than imagined. A fantasy and adventure film with which the youngest will have an entertaining time and with some horny monster along the way. Like a lot of middling Netflix films, there's a cheap veneer that prevents any creative exploration of film's high-concept premise. Fantasy violence, brave teens in book-based monster tale.'A Babysitter's Guide to Monster Hunting' is introductory horror that never leans heavily into scares, but works within its zaniness thanks to a strong cast of all ages (especially Tom Felton). This Rachel Talalay-directed film makes for a perfect Halloween viewing and a way to introduce a young viewer to their first kinda horror film!
