TRAVEL TO MOVIES: NO ONE GETS OUT ALIVE

Director: Santiago Menghini
Cast: Cristina Rodlo , Marc Menchaca , David Figlioli , Joana Borja , Pepa Duarte , Jeff Mirza , Victoria Alcock , Phil Robertson , Jose Palma , Moronke Akinola , Mitchell Mullen , Vala Noren
Plot: Ambar, an undocumented immigrant, moves from Mexico to Cleveland, Ohio after her mother passes away. She supports herself with under the table job and her savings. In search of a place to stay, she finds a dilapidated boarding house run by Red, who requires the first month's rent up front.

My Movie Review: The movie is quite creepy but in a good way with some very bloody and realistic violence, if you're not good with gore then don't watch this but you sure be missing out! No One Gets Out Alive is rare movie to come by with multiple genres mainly horror, suspense, comedy, drama, romance, mystery, thriller, superhero mix in one spellbinding intoxicating tale! The film might not be a classic but overall it is solid enough as the building, along with the creepy sounds, are nicely disturbing, it has something to say about how it explores the real-life horror of how undocumented immigrants are exploited using conventional horror film construct! Red Welles is the main antagonist of the 2021 supernatural horror film, he is the son of Arthur Welles and the elder brother of Becker together Red and his brother used to sacrifice women to Ītzpāpālōtl to any women unfortunate enough to stay in their house (serving as the landlord.) No One Gets Out Alive builds its suspense through scares both real/ supernatural while I less satisfied with ultimate execution, Jon Croker and Fernanda Coppell script has going in favor! This is supernatural horror with very violent perpetrated on undocumented female immigrants! Based on a novel, No One Gets Out Alive is at best when it depicts the all-too-real nightmare of women who are undocumented immigrants trying to survive in contemporary America as of many people who come to the country looking for a fresh chance she will do fight for her future!

Critic Reviews: If you've ever felt adrift in a new city, or woken up at night wondering how you're going to pay the rent may find this particular nightmare more haunting than most. When Cristina Rodlo is screaming her head off in terror, I was right there with her. A stand-up-and-take-notice feature debut from filmmaker Santiago Menghini. Succeeds primarily in the vividness of its physical environ, impressively decrepit boardinghouse that seems to swallow up vulnerable young women whole. There's enough of a jolt here for horror fans to feel briefly sated and enough for Netflix horror fans to feel briefly transformed. Even if everything doesn't quite work out, No One Gets Out Alive has a good premise and solid performances from Rodlo and castmates. The film's peculiar and ominous storytelling progressed the narrative, resulting in an elevating movie that fights supernatural forces and living nightmares that become too real. The film may be a touch predictable, with some odd character choices, but that doesn’t hurt the overall result. With a compassionate lead, you’re drawn into her story and feel a sense of empathy towards everything she goes through. No One Gets Out Alive is a by-the-numbers meandering horror slogan for the first two acts, but things get interesting in the third act when the film finally decides to show and not tell. There's beauty in its simplicity, using a familiar tale for a fresh metaphor, even if it doesn't break a ton of new ground with its structure that's alright!

TRAVEL TO MOVIES: FRIENDZONE

Director: Charles Van Tieghem
Cast: Mickaël Lumière , Manon Azem , Fadily Camara , Maxime Gasteuil , Constance Arnoult , Eva Danino , Bruno Sanches , Eloïse Valli , Nelia Da Costa , Simon Aouizerate , Romain Vissol
Plot: Hopeful romantic Thibault believes he could go from being best friend to boyfriend after sparks fly between him and Rose.

My Movie Review: The movie is very giddy a spectacle of friendship growing into sunny side love that's fun to watch where the mood is vibrant, adventure like harmless and flowing mellow! Friendzone is a must watch for young audience like me and those looking for a fun escape with loving tender moments of guys & girls want love, even you can watch it with your friends group! People end up getting stuck in the Friendzone for a number of reasons like sometimes they simply don't make themselves attractive to others, sometimes they pick the wrong person, who doesn't match them as a lover, sometimes they are not bold and do not demand a fair trade where their needs get met upfront the good news is that people go from being friends to lovers! What I like about this movie it's light, carefree and brings positive energy I smiled throughout the whole movie, even now while writing this review the best thing I liked about is there's no vulgarity in this film a lot American romantic comedy, and those were full of sex' instead of love! Many long-term relationships have started from a solid friendship first however it's important not to pressure people or play games with the feeling in your attempt- get out of the friendzone! The cast Mickaël Lumière as Thibault is the cutest what a humble awesome guy who needs help from his friends Maud (Manon Azem) takes him on grueling runs to toughen him up, Lulu (Fadily Camara) takes him African dancing to smooth his moves to pursue Rose (Eva Danino)!!

Critic Reviews: Makeover stories are often appealing, and Friendzone adds to that concept memorable characters and amusing insights into male-female relationships. Think of it Friends with less coffee and more nudity and in French I sure did. Netflix’s French film category might be one of the most exciting on the platform; from addictive series like Lupin, Call My Agent!, and The Chalet to original films like I Am Not An Easy Man and Madame Claude, the French continue to give us cinematic gifts. Friendzone on Netflix, takes such a sillier approach than the aforementioned titles, telling the story of a dorky guy who wants to be more than friends with a woman way out of his league. The group are all at the beach for a bachelorette bash for one of their own, and Thibault is the lone straight man at the party. After taking a nude dip in the ocean one evening, he comes to the aid of Rose, who designs baby clothing, when she is stung by a jellyfish. He falls for her almost instantly, and the two grow close, but it isn’t long before she makes clear that anything romantic between them is felt purely on his end. With a few changes, this cast could deliver a memorable rom com with a heart of gold, but with this exhausted, toxic concept at the center, Friendzone falls short. Friendzone might be watchable occasionally enjoyable but I certainly can’t advocate that anyone watch it. Had our protagonist learned anything by the latter, perhaps Friendzone may have actually proved itself worthwhile:)

TRAVEL TO MOVIES: JE SUIS KARL

Director: Christian Schwochow
Cast: Luna Wedler , Jannis Niewöhner , Milan Peschel , Edin Hasanovic , Mélanie Fouché , Anna Fialová , Fleur Geffrier , Aziz Dyab , Marlon Boess , Victor Boccard , Elizaveta Maximová
Plot: Following a terrorist attack, survivor Maxi joins the beguiling student Karl and becomes part of a European youth movement – one that aims for nothing less than seizing power.

My Movie Review: The movie is uncomfortable to watch with fast shots that hard to follow plus the violence in the rallies got too real, scary and troubling to digest and mostly loud total chaos! Je Suis Karl is such a disappointment to be exactly you watch movie to ease the stress you face in the real world to escape but this is so problematic you can't grasp what really happened and where it's going you're just thrown out to this nonsense chaos and doesn't know it's about:( Who are the ones to make this right? European youth movement one that aims for nothing less than seizing power? Power to who the government then what to do to that power? Just asking!! Luna Wedler made me watch this movie because I like her Netflix Series Biohackers I thought its going to great since she's in it but quite the opposite as' the worst movie I watched in Netflix! If the purpose is clear and we know that they fighting for this could be worth rooting for and a possible turnaround to sell the deal might work with all intense scenes the end should be ease! The director, Christian Schwochow is so focus on creating gripping action sequences he forgot how to tell the story right on the other hand Jannis Niewöhner is so good with superb acting and impressive presence in the stills made an impact his in the making of European Superstar!

Critic Reviews: The director, Christian Schwochow, sets up a gut-punch that doesn't land. Big swings don't count for much when basics of plausibility and structure are so muddled. Je Suis Karl can be excruciatingly on the nose... It is also more than a little awkward that a drama decrying racism barely bothers to have any non-white characters. There might be a better film in what's here, something that judicious trimming and re-arranging of scenes could bring out. While the intention behind this German-Czech thriller may be admirable, too much of it focuses on the wrong story and the wrong characters. Je Suis Karl was not the movie I saw advertised. It’s so far out of balance, and its message is particularly muddled. Throws us in a dark, infinite tunnel. Not quite right. This drama on Netflix tries to make a hard-hitting statement about youth and the far right in Europe, but it muddles basics of plausibility to be honest it so hard to watch! Though spirited performances bring the material to life to an extent, the screenplay never quite manages to make extreme conversion of its main character, who lost her mother and siblings in a terrorist attack in Berlin, credible. This, in turn, makes the project’s prospects beyond home turf something of a question mark, though streamers looking for topical fare will want to take a look. The Berlinale stamp of approval' where it screened as a Special Gala- certainly can’t hurt!
