TRAVEL TO MOVIES: ALICE THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS

Director: James Bobin
Cast: Johnny Depp , Mia Wasikowska , Anne Hathaway , Sacha Baron Cohen , Helena Bonham Carter , Rhys Ifans , Alan Rickman , Michael Sheen , Stephen Fry , Timothy Spall
Plot: Alice finds new adventures in Wonderland but not without facing a new villain played by Sacha Baron Cohen as Time. Johnny Depp returns to play the Mad Hatter, but this time his father Zanik Hightopp (Rhys Ifans) is introduced.

My Movie Review: The movie is slightly strange much like the first film but the adventure takes to new direction. I didn't expect the story will took off changing the past somehow I get more than what I bargain for and really enjoy it. The visuals were such a treat popping through our eyes with the costume and setting full of color it will take you to another world. Mad Hatter makes us value family and Time teaches us to let go the past and learn from it.
My Favorite Lines: "You've been gone too long, Alice. There are matters which might benefit from your attention. Friends cannot be neglected." "He's stuck us all at one minute to tea time! Tea time, forever!" "When the day becomes the night and the sky becomes the sea, When the clock strikes heavy and there's no time for tea. In our darkest hour, before my final rhyme, she will come back home to Wonderland and turn back the hands of time."

TRAVEL TO PLACES: SINGAPORE HELIX BRIDGE

My Personal Experience: I went to Helix Bridge at Marina Bay last year September 18, 2015, together with my sister. We were there to walk away from our everyday routine and start the day in a new prospective. Helix Bridge is a good place to see for its unique futuristic design forming different shapes making it must- see structure when in Singapore.

TRAVEL TO MOVIES: THE LEGEND OF TARZAN

Director: David Yates
Cast: Alexander Skarsgard , Margot Robbie , Samuel L. Jackson , Djimon Hounsou , Christoph Waltz , Jim Broadbent , Ella Purnell , Casper Cump , Cali Nelle , Rory J. Saper
Plot: For years, Tarzan has been out of the African jungle where he once grew up. Living a civilised existence as John Clayton III, Lord Greystoke with his wife, Jane Porter, he is asked to travel to Congo to serve as a trade emissary of Parliament. Little does he know that he is part of Belgian Captain Rom's plan to exact his greed and revenge.

My Movie Review: The movie is bit dark taking us to more serious yet sensible approach retelling the legend. This version is exquisite in giving more explanation to the elements of the story and how it revolves to the characters. Tarzan raised in the jungle must come home to be one of the apes and save the people he grew up. With this comes Jane where we look a side of her that never been seen before she become part of the tribe in the wild.
My Favorite Character: George Washington Williams

George Washington Williams of The Legend of Tarzan was a real person, who did a lot more interesting things in real life than just getting a ride on a vine-swinging Tarzan. In 1890, Williams visited the Congo in Africa, which was then colonized by King Leopold II of Belgium, seen in The Legend of Tarzan. Appalled by the exploitation of the African people by the Belgian colony, Williams is most remembered for his scathing letter, written directly to the King Leopold II, which he detailed Belgium's crime against the people of the Congo.

TRAVEL TO PLACES: SINGAPORE GRAFFITI AT YOUTH PARK

My Personal Experience: I went to The Graffiti At Youth Park last year October 4, 2015, together with my sister. We were amaze when seeing the artwork on the big walls and benches they make us what to live more and see the world in a bright light. Each graffiti brings out a different emotion like positivism vibes and playfulness for the monster eye art.

TRAVEL TO MOVIES INDEPENDENCE DAY: RESUGRENCE

Director: Roland Emmerich
Cast: Liam Hemsworth , Charlotte Gainsbourg ,  Bill Pullman , Jeff Goldblum , Judd Hirsch
Plot: An ancient portal has opened and the nations of earth have to collaborate to fight against the return of a ruthless alien species. Ill-prepared Earth works on an immense defense programme using recovered alien technology to protect the planet. With the devastation brought upon Earth, only a few brave men and women can possibly save humankind from extinction.

My Movie Review: The movie has no substance big ships and aliens didn't save the day. Resurgence is visually captivating but the story didn't make sense and have lesser impact. I didn't watch the first one I nothing to compare but on what I see it's not well put together. The good it has exciting shots like children on the road, man on the boat, troops on action and ships circle on air. Liam Hemsworth is not the star of the movie others surpassed him.
My Favorite Lines: "Time to kick some serious alien ass." That's... definitely bigger than the last one." "They like to get the landmarks." Today you will once again be fighting for our freedom... Not from tyranny, oppression or persecution but from annihilation. And should we win the day, the Fourth of July will no longer be known as an American holiday, but as the day when the world declared in one voice: "We will not go quietly into the night!" We will not vanish without the fight! We're going to live on! We're going to survive!"
