Sixteen-year-old Ruby escapes from her captors and joins other runaways who are seeking a safe haven. Banded together and on the run that they soon combine their collective powers to fight the adults who tried to take away their future.

My Movie Review: The movie is about youth revolution who seeks a place to belong and exist with where they can move free without fearing adults trying to get them because of their power! The Darkest Minds comes of like Divergent feels where individuals identify with factions based on their abilities almost the same but this time only kids belong to a certain group color identity! Amandla Stenberg and Harris Dickinson leads the cast as they find love in each other mostly same with other young adult teen novel yet still works for the audiences it please to revolve in:) The formula of this movie maybe old but the execution is fresh and exciting with an inevitable sequel we launch another franchise to follow with positive conclusion there is hope in the dark!!

Movie News: Parents need to know that The Darkest Minds is an action thriller based on the first book in author Alexandra Bracken's best-selling young adult series about a world in which most children, teens have died from fatal virus. Rare survivors have emerged with mysterious superpowers, enhanced intelligence, telekinesis, mind control, and fire-starting. Amandla Stenberg, the movie is fairly violent, with a high body count that includes many children and teens, as well as some adults (who in some cases are compelled via mind control to injure/kill themselves). There's also a scene in which a girl erases herself from her parents' memories. There's some romance, but because of a power that works skin-to-skin, the romance mostly consists of longing looks, one slow dance, an eventual big kiss and dream fantasies in contact!
