My Personal Experience: I went to Johor Bahru Malaysia this year April 28, 2018, together with my sister and brother-in-law. We went there to have all day tour in early morning Saturday! Johor Bahru is the nearest city in Malaysia to Singapore that's why we marvel in this instant access during weekend but lot of people went that day resulting in hectic crowded immigration!
Johor Bahru
The city receives about 16 million tourists annually. Johor is connected by two bridges with neighboring country Singapore. Over 300.000 inhabitants of Johor Bahru work in Singapore for many years because of better economical prospects. Johor Bahru (commonly referred to as JB) is the southernmost city in Malaysia. It's one of largest cities in the country (2nd biggest) with more than 2.7 million inhabitants (including suburbs). The current Mega Project Iskandar will do according to experts transform Johor Bahru into the biggest financial center of Malaysia.
