Plot: Writer director Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok, Hunt For The Wilderpeople), brings his signature style of humor and pathos to his latest film, Jojo Rabbit, World War II satire that follows a lonely German boy (Roman Griffin Davis as Jojo) whose world view is turned upside down when he discovers his single mother (Scarlett Johansson) is hiding a young Jewish girl (Thomasin McKenzie) in their attic. Aided only by his idiotic imaginary friend, Adolf Hitler (Taika Waititi), Jojo must confront his blind nationalism.
My Movie Review: The movie is field of antic wit set in Nazi Germany on this schmaltzy satire! Jojo Rabbit is not your typical comedy war by watching this I felt I'm stepping out of my comfort zone not my kind of movie I thought to give it a pass but due to good response I'd gave it a go:) Roman Griffin Davis is a surprise promising new actor that's full of wisdom and complete touch of quirkiness perfect for the role this growing boy makes you curious and ingest funny sarcasm Archie Yates on the other hand in the midst of war is still adorable together cuteness overload:) Taika Waititi manage to be unrecognizable as Adolf Hitler it's like he became totally a different person the director's cleverness is overflowing on the story and acting as well putting his spin! Using actors that will the role is a choice and play with their strengths make a brilliant outcome- Scarlett Johansson is phenomenal never seen her light to shine this bright deserving to see as Sam Rockwell and Rebel Wilson were also good here hilarious and help to build all characters!
Critics Consensus: Jojo Rabbit's blend of irreverent humor and serious ideas definitely won't be to everyone's taste -- but either way, this anti-hate satire is audacious to a fault. Taika Waititi's film is tender, daring, and sharp -- precisely pitched so that it keeps its path steady and its ambitions in check. Jojo Rabbit is bold in its inversion of expectations and its reimagining of a familiar subject. There's nothing trivial about it. Pack up your political correctness, hold onto your jaw and enjoy the ride. A comedy with some drama, loaded with extremely hilarious moments and other tremendously touching. Jojo Rabbit is lovely from start to finish. It is unflinching in its allegiance to joy and mirth, no matter how depraved and depressing human beings and their actions tend to be. All the characters are treated with great affection. Waititi is clever enough to flirt with scandal without getting burned. A satire that mercilessly mocks Hitler and the Nazis, but that also treat the context in which it takes place with respect and solemnity!
