TRAVEL TO MOVIES: ASPHALT BURNING

Director: Hallvard Braein
Cast: Anders Baasmo Christiansen , Sven Nordin , Kathrine Thorborg Johansen , Ida Husøy , Henrik Mestad , Otto Jespersen , Björn Kjellman , Peter Kurth , Kostja Ullmann , Ruby O. Fee
Plot: The asphalt is burning, the tires are turning - at a breakneck pace and in tuned cars it goes from Trollstigen mountain road in Norway via Sweden and Denmark to the Nürburgring in Germany - where Roy has to win a race or lose his fiancee Sylvia. A bet that the crazy car enthusiast made on the wedding night after one too many drinks with Roy's challenger Robin who likes the beautiful bride. On the ludicrous and turbulent road trip, Roy not only meets tough adversaries (Henning Baum, The BossHoss) and hot chicks, but soon also the police (Milan Peschel, Peter Kurth) are after him. But that's not all: Roy has to deal with two namesakes (Kostja Ullmann), the import hit Wencke Myhre and a dead corpse in the trunk and then on top of it all suddenly his car is gone. But giving up is not an option for Roy because: "The race isn't over until it's over."

My Movie Review: The movie is bizarre with amazing cars in action next to a gorgeous misty mountain woot visually wondrous thunder is backdrop for bevy of waxed-an-inch-of-their-lives:) Asphalt Burning is somewhat stupid though still very watchable this flick is everything a movie should not be yet it works somehow quirks ideas like Race for the bride? or Drive for love, Roy! The story here is pretty barebones, even without the added context of the previous movies, and revolves around bad-boy racer Roy who’s on the verge of getting married unfortunately he loses a race up the mountain to secure his sweetheart Sylvia and had kissed someone Robyn! When it comes to comedy, outside the fast CGI scenes this movie isn’t particularly amusing! There’s a recurring joke involving different guys called Roy because their all called Roy which fine with me I give it a pass but despite imperfections what I like about it can stood on its own:0

Others Review: It was a decent movie. Great humor, decent storyline and for most gearheads it has some pretty good car scenes that actually makes sense. But, there were many scenes that seemed like they had ran out of money and made it worse. Also the CGI was awful, just awful. For a movie released in 1990, it would be good, but for a 2020 movie... No, just no. All in all, it's a great movie to watch with some friends and have some fun, but not a movie I would choose to watch over and over. A bit hokey some fun things going on in this movie, the main storyline was interesting, and the real car scenes were cool. However, the 'action' shots were too hokey and there were a few weird subplots. Acting was okay. Good cinematography. Just for the picture with the Mustang I gave it a go. The reason is simple I am into muscle cars. And for that reason only you will love this flick. It's full of muscle cars in the beginning. It do add some power cars too. A delight to see them. The movie itself just can't be taken seriously. It tries to be funny in which it fails. For me just watch it for the cars. I haven't had expectations but movie surprised me. It's very cringe and funny scenes are mostly realistic and really filmed!

TRAVEL TO PLACES: PHILIPPINES-- HAMANDA HOTEL: BIRTHDAY ROOM

My Personal Experience: I went to Hamanda Hotel Birthday Room it is the space I celebrate my special day this year July 12, 2021, together with my neighbors! We went there to eat and bond while in our room premise in celebration of my 28th birthday, we put together order foods! Hamanda Hotel is very flexible in terms of room design, you get a different vibe for each room:)

Hamanda Hotel: Birthday Room
Nestled inside the famous Souq Restaurant Compound in Pampanga, our magical rooms are tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the city but with a modern, stylish flair. We stayed for 2 nights in the classic room. It's just a quick getaway while still being in the city. Everything was clean and well-kept. The only cons incomplete bath supply and no breakfast option. During our stay, they served the same breakfast. I hope that they fix their meal plan. Design of the room- I can't complain well as the pool area. Good use of ecofriendly materials and resources. Each room design is different, each corner is Instagram worthy, pricing is very reasonable, service is great or it depends. Breakfast by the balcony was memorable' choose a room with the balcony!

TRAVEL TO MOVIES: WE CAN BE HEROES

Director: Robert Rodriguez
Cast: YaYa Gosselin , Pedro Pascal , Priyanka Chopra Jonas , Lyon Daniels , Andy Walken , Hala Finley , Lotus Blossom , Dylan Henry Lau , Christian Slater , Boyd Holbrook , Akira Akbar
Plot: When alien invaders kidnap Earth's superheroes, their children must team up and learn to work together if they want to save their parents and the world.

My Movie Review: The movie is a mixed bag you get a good bunch awhile you get bad after taste of tacky and unnecessary plot twist and then great again on how it innovate superheroes! It's poorly made with bad effects, bad plot, and even worse actors somehow this film manages to be even worse it's like they tried to make a superhero version of Spy Kids but with a much worse script and a lot less money for short some effects looks cheap sarcastic and unrealistic:( We Can Be Heroes is one of Robert Rodriguez's strongest entries in his eclectic career might sound a little silly but the film is packed full of imagination and is genuinely accessible to a vast number of people of all ages as it features well-loved childhood characters Sharkboy, Lavagirl:) This superhero flick might be all over the place but the message is pretty strong everyone has limitless potential inside of them, you just need to learn how to embrace your capabilities and learn how to best utilize them as problem may arise in such unpredictable time just be ready! We Can Be Heroes is such a excellent example of- what can be accomplished with teamwork:)

Critics Consensus: Although it may be too zany for adults, We Can Be Heroes balances its sophisticated themes with heart and zealous originality. We need a baby-sitter we can trust while nursing the last of the season's hangovers. Just try and stay out of the room for the excruciatingly sunny cover of David Bowie's Heroes. A sort of sequel to "The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl," this film gives kids exactly what they want. Adults? Not so much. I didn't get a migraine, but there are stronger recommendations. Rodriguez's film has a simple nobility to it that does a lot to overcome the slapdash CGI and cheap sets. It's always easier to embrace something when it's made with sincerity and heart. Celebrates our culture, values, and aesthetic while offering hope that these tools can help build a better future. This was clearly made for kids, not critics, and the design and action are vibrant enough to divert them:) Rodriguez is well-versed in superhero tropes for parents who appreciate comic-book satire. I recommend this for kids, no question. Rodriguez' superhero-kid adventure has action & humor!

TRAVEL TO MOVIES: YOUR NAME ENGRAVED HEREIN

Director: Kuang-Hui Liu
Cast: Edward Chen , Jing-Hua Tseng , Leon Dai , Shih-Sian Wang , Barry Qu , Stone Yang , Fabio Grangeon , Lance Chiu , David Hao-Chi Chiu , Mimi Shao , Hui-Min Lin , Nien-Hsien Ma
Plot: In 1987, as martial law ends in Taiwan, two schoolboys Jia-han and Birdy fall in love amid family pressure, homophobia and social stigma as they about to enter an illicit love affair after meeting in the school band led by a Canadian priest named Oliver. While the whole country commemorates the late president, the two boys bask in each other's presence as A-han's affection for Birdy is awakened.

My Movie Review: The movie is refreshing such great cinematography, not cringy, realistic, and worthy to watch with every detail capture the actor's emotions such worthy of many praise! Your Name Engraved Herein is just love this my first time watching Taiwanese LGBTQ film and I must admit I was impressed the quality of filming and picturizations beautiful faces, music and slow photography at times covering the landscape and giving face to a unusual longing lovers:) What makes it unique “Your Name Engraved Herein” unlike other stories is its unhappily-ever-after ending, where the main characters don't end up together which can happen in real life! One of them comes out and accepts his sexuality living his truth, while the other buries his true identity, marries a wife and participates in a so-called “normal” lifestyle which is sad but happen to the most people so what we can do is to be kind more open and accepting with this kind of love be progressive on our thinking and by doing that change my come as heart will go fonder!!

Critic Reviews: Though the movie could coast on the appeal of handsome faces and stolen trips to Taipei, Liu gives texture to their pretty pining. Despite these deficiencies, the film is eminently watchable, especially the second half, aided by the attractiveness of the two main protagonists, who construct a believable erotic chemistry. Like the recent Thai Present Perfect films, it feels like love on a micro-scale and not part of something bigger. But unlike its Thai counterpart, it takes itself much more seriously indeed. The result is an intimate story with heartfelt performances and sensual cinematography. Liu's film is heartfelt. He deftly captures the bromance that develops between the two teens. An earnest drama that's absolutely worth celebrating for representation's sake worth a watch. Gentle, sensitively played, and emotionally powerful. It captures life and love at its most intimate. It's the sensitivity that distinguishes (this film), a coming-out story that plays as flow sentimental first-love-you-never-get-over romance:)(
