Plot: When outlaw Nat Love (Jonathan Majors) discovers that his enemy Rufus Buck (Idris Elba) is being released from prison he rounds up his gang to track Rufus down and seek revenge. Those riding with him in assured, righteously new school Western include his former love Stagecoach Mary (Zazie Beetz), his right and left hand men--hot-tempered Bill Pickett (Edi Gathegi) and fast drawing Jim Beckwourth (R.J. Cyler)--and a surprising adversary-turned-ally! Rufus Buck has his own fearsome crew, including "Treacherous" Trudy Smith (Regina King) and Cherokee Bill (LaKeith Stanfield), and they are not a group that knows how to lose against!

My Movie Review: The movie is powerful ensemble with a cast this strong and good script its one exeptional story with this caliber that told in a straight out of the books Western Adventure! The Harder They Fall is sucessful in creating a world of its own and making a watchable event of a show that's worth celebrating with unapologetically centers its Black characters in finesse:) The aim of The Harder They Fall is to reframe the Old West to acknowledge the fact that many of the settlers were Black, and to have a blast in this thrilling film, with the type of highs that can excuse some lows and that appears to be venture into this White Town full of white people! The Harder They Fall only further cements how much this deserves to be seen by many as such Jonathan Majors brings a swaggering confidence to gentleman outlaw Nat Love to Idris Elba as the tough and mighty Rufus Buck and Regina King showing off quiet confidence as the treacherous Trudy Smith is a history lesson wrapped in fast, flashy, and fantastical storytelling:) The Harder They Fall isn't attempting to be an antithesis or a pointed statement; it aims to expand the boundaries of the Western to include this jazz improvisational-style mashup of fact, legend and screenwriters' whim starts with a traumatic act of murder as unsettling as it is must! Director Jeymes Samuel's supremely violent revenge thriller is bold and bloody reinvention fix:)

Critics Consensus: It isn't as bold and fearless as its characters, but The Harder They Fall fills its well-worn template with style, energy, and a fantastic cast. The Harder They Fall is easily one of Netflix's most successful original movies. The cast do their very best to bring the most out of the script, there is action aplenty and the soundtrack is one of the most memorable of the year. Boaz Yakin’s script crackles, and director Jemyes Samuels keeps the tension tightly wound. Despite a strong start and the amazing talent on screen, the film sags in the middle before limping across the finish line with its predictable ending and head-scratching sequel setup. From start to finish, The Harder They Fall is a riveting rollercoaster ride, chock-full of compelling characters, aggressive action, and a decent dose of dynamic drama to give it that extra emotional "oomph" in the final stretch. The Harder They Fall is a perfect blend and display of Love, revenge and jealousy. There is a very deep rooted story and each character has a lot of heart. One of the best westerns in modern times! It's obvious Jeymes Samuel put his entire heart and soul into The Harder They Fall, as did every actor on the roster. Each character has a defining moment, perfectly complemented by Samuel's camera choices-- his original music. An instant classic without a doubt a visionary interpretation of a Western setting!
