TRAVEL TO MOVIES: THE PRIVILEGE

Directors: Felix Fuchssteiner , Katharina Schöde
Cast: Max Schimmelpfennig , Lise Risom Olsen , Roman Knizka , Horst Janson , Tijan Marei , Milena Tscharntke , Lea van Acken , Caroline Hartig , Nadeshda Brennicke , Mike Hoffmann A)
Plot: A wealthy teen named Finn and his friends attending an elite private school uncover a dark conspiracy while looking into a series of strange supernatural events.

My Movie Review: The movie is not scary at all, storyline was ok but they didn't executed well enough so although for the first 10 minutes it really grabbed my attention I thought the start of the movie was really good suspense, about supernatural stuff, but then it turned into a thriller about medicine? that makes people hosts for old people so many loopholes in the story but I enjoyed that it thrilled me, gave me the adrenaline rush I just wished The Privilege would have been developed more clarity so we can appreciate the plot luckily there's a sequel coming! Some people are just harsh there's something to see here it may not be the typical horror but has sophisticated style in showing gruesome events and great visuals all around it's refreshing!

Critics Reviews: The Privilege is what happens when Get Out cheats on The Da Vinci Code and gets arrested for having a trashy threesome with I Know What You Did Last Summer and The Final Destination. Despite obvious manipulation, and an oddball central plot involving a fungus that grows on corpses and inside victims, The Privilege could prove a hit. Another example of a horror-type film that could not make up its mind on what it wants to be. If you're looking for a fun horror watch that throws different subgenres into blender and works, The Privilege is it: family, corporate intrigue, trauma and the supernatural all collide for a good time!

Audience Reviews: I had a hard time figuring out where all the plot lines would meet at the end, and unfortunately, my guess was right and it turned out to be smashed in a rushed ending. Disappointing. Lousy movie. Bad acting and script that is coupled with a confused and erratic storyline and plot. It's just a heap and mesh of unoriginal nonsense and unlikeable characters. Stupid ending. A convoluted, confused, scheiße of a movie that suffered from an annoying, multiple themes disorder. Quoting a line from the sublime movie Amadeus " There is simply too many notes". The script borrows heavily from other superior, horror classics, failing to fit the many pieces, never able to come into its own. The scariest part of the film is that it promises a sequel, the only original part that made any sense was the threesome. I conclude that "Das Privileg" will leave you with assured feeling of bitter bafflement- hoping better sequel!

TRAVEL TO MOVIES: THROUGH MY WINDOW

Director: Marçal Forés
Cast: Clara Galle , Julio Peña , Hugo Arbues , Eric Masip , Pilar Castro , Abel Folk , Guillermo Lasheras , Natalia Azahara , Rachel Lascar , Emilia Lazo , Lucía de la Puerta , Sean Burgos e)
Plot: Raquel has a longtime crush on her hot neighbor, Ares, whom she secretly watches but has never spoken to. Can she make Ares fall in love with her?

My Movie Review: The movie is about Raquel who is madly and irrevocably in love with Ares, her attractive and mysterious neighbour through the window, the thing is she has watched him from afar because much to her dismay, they haven't exchanged a single word but Raquel has a very clear mission: to make Ares fall in love with her- however: she is not an innocent, helpless girl and is certainly not prepared to lose any to achieve a goal importantly not herself:) The onscreen chemistry between Raquel and Ares is magic, I definitely ship them, don't listen to the critics they got it wrong this is a great movie nonetheless, I was beyond thrilled when Ares revealed he deliberately broke his Wi-Fi so he can get to talk to Raquel, she thought he didn't notice her, but he did. The description of this movie doesn't do it justice, it's way more than that. I underestimated this movie at first and regret not watching it sooner. I await the sequel and am super excited about it. I loved the storyline and the cast are all excellent. The outfit/ costumes were just so in-sync with the story. This is so worth re-watching and exploring:) Yes its somewhat based on true story: the premise for the original book came from Godoy's own experiences. As she told “In college, I had a neighbor that I was kind of 'sharing' my Wi-Fi with I had a huge crush on him, it didn't end well but that inspired for the beginning of the story!

Critics Reviews: There is a certain laziness in its technical realization; everything is built around a soundtrack of pop songs that contribute nothing to a narrative framework that is flat, empty and banal, devoid of subtlety and ambiguity. The film is better than the book, but outside of a weirdly incestuous sex scene and a hilariously melodramatic climax, it's surprisingly snoozy and the leads have no chemistry. Empty erotica parading as young love. It's not the fault of the actors, a young and sufficiently charismatic cast, but Through My Window feels at once derivative and disappointing. Through My Window sucks in the way teenagers generally suck, since they haven’t figured out diddly-squat and are self-obsessed, inarticulate in the ways of the heart and mired in banal angst. This story is just unhealthy, portraying a toxic relationship as the normal simply because the boy is attractive, with sex always present and provide the necessary steps to continue the story! While watching this, I thought that it was very Wattpad-like, and holy cow, this movie is based on a book series that was originally on Wattpad. The acting is questionable, the pacing is very awkward and the horrible dialogue is just a cherry on top. Even most serious scenes end up being laughable. The script somehow generic and flawed that it's hard to buy that any of the melodramatic is in-your-face sequences!

TRAVEL TO MOVIES: THE TINDER SWILDLER

Director: Felicity Morris
Cast: Simon Leviev (Tinder Swindler) -Archive Footage- , Cecilie Fjellhøy , Pernilla Sjöholm , Ayleen Charlotte , Karan Pugal , Kristoffer Kumar , Erlend Ofte Arntsen , Natalie Remø Hansen
Plot: Posing as a wealthy, jet-setting diamond mogul, a man woos women online then cons them out of millions of dollars. Now some victims plan for payback. A group of women who were the victims of a dating app based swindler join together in an attempt to hunt him down and recover the millions of dollars that were stolen from them.

My Movie Review: The doc film is intriguing and informative, but at a runtime of 2-hours, it becomes repetitive after the first hour, it was really insightful especially when you're exploring! Three women detail their accounts online with the person they thought was exclusive only to them, for most of the film, his name was Simon Leviev, the son of a billionaire diamond dealer:) Damn, one of the best 'recent' movies I just finished watching. I just put it on during dinner time and was about to close it when I found out it was a documentary, but thank God I didn't. The best thing about this documentary film however is the presentation; the movie simply flowed smoothly from the start to the end without a single moment of dullness and devoid of any unnecessary shots, didn't even realize spending almost two hours engrossed can't get enough! The Tinder Swildler is my first documentary review I like how it breaks my boundaries on how good it is the typical expection on a doc film vanish and just enjoy the journey on discovering it! My heart goes out to the young women who were used by this swindler: losing money through fraud is hard enough, but the man broke their hearts also because he was a professional thief, the fear of being more victimized will never leave them with the internet providing all the background they need on potential victims and dating applications proving a pond of lonely victims, they just have to pull the same con again and again, but what I like most this doc film does a great job of showing who the victims are, who the conman is and how the con works it:)

Critics Consensus: Chillingly addictive viewing, The Tinder Swindler offers a solidly crafted -- albeit heartbreaking treat true crime fans. It's tighter and more focused than many true crime documentaries on Netflix, a crisply done account of how a guy manipulated and exploited three women on Tinder. The most compelling part of the movie isn't the crook or the nature of the scam, whose mechanics work like a well-oiled Ponzi scheme. It is the visible evidence that despite it all, these women haven't given up on finding love. Despite the great yarn at its centre, as a film, The Tinder Swindler sometimes lapses into the self-indulgence common to so many modern documentaries, with endless shadowy reconstructions and a heart-tugging soundtrack. A cinematic look into the disturbing tale of a relentless conman turns its focus to the heavy price that come with the smaller scams. A powerful, perhaps misunderstood film!! The Tinder Swindler is an unbelievable true crime documentary. I guarantee after watching this you will be straight on Instagram checking articles story defies logic flabbergasted. Throughout her reportage, Morris doesn't judge any of the victims, but rather outlines, terrifyingly, how easily it could happen to virtually anyone. The Tinder Swindler, like the man it takes inspiration from, plays on the worst aspects of human emotion; this is TV as a freak-show! So to watch one such individual who preyed on innocent and trusting souls receive the schadenfreude he so desperately deserves, it made The Tinder Swindler not just a binge but a delicious rewatch:)

TRAVEL TO MOVIES: AFTER WE FELL

Director: Castille Landon
Cast: Josephine Langford , Hero Fiennes Tiffin , Rob Estes , Angela Sari , Mira Sorvino , Kiana Madeira , Louise Lombard , Chance Perdomo , Frances Turner , Carter Jenkins , Anton Kottas
Plot: The third installment of the "After" franchise finds Tessa starting an exciting new chapter of her life. But as she prepares to move to Seattle for her dream job, Hardin's jealousy and unpredictable behavior reach a fever pitch and threaten to end their intense relationship. Their situation grows more complicated when Tessa's father returns and shocking revelations about Hardin's family come to light. Ultimately, Tessa and Hardin must decide if their love is worth fighting for or if it's time to go their separate ways.

My Movie Review: The movie is atrocious, nothing happens, feels empty, there's no plot, just toxic behaviors and unnecessary drama probably the darkest and worst installment of After!! Hardin only gets worse and worse every movie but what's bad for us we tolerate hoping that person will change mostly when happen to love that person you can't help yourself to care too! Maybe that's the pull of this movie you can't fully love the person if you only see the good and best parts, you have to see the bad and worst parts to really cherish the moments worth lookin! After We Fell is truly embodies its title cause they really fell hard with this one this is a movie that you have to take at face value it is in between a teen drama and an adult romance, based on the Anna Todd Wattpad novels, if you are a fan, you are going to love it but if you are not you might be hyper critical specially if this kind of film isn't your thing or the movie really sucks! Trying to squeeze in as many naughty sex scenes in between such boring and unnecessary dialogue and lack of plot, it's just argument after argument and leaving each other only to return for sex then argue again, this cycle made the viewers prostrated and wanting substance! But nevertheless you will see this cause it's a part of something we love and gotten used too with so much familiarity with this characters you happen to have see it through for clear picture!

Critics Reviews: They seem to be caught in a loop composed of a never-ending series of quarrels reliably followed by make-up sex shot in languorous close-up and accompanied by anodyne pop. Though After We Fell aims for the scintillating eroticism of a lithe young couple risking getting caught with some semi-public hot tub sex, the whole experience is more akin to taking a lukewarm bath in a swimsuit. A series of cliches and stereotypes. As disastrous as these movies are, After We Fell sinks to a new low, simply by being painfully boring. One interesting theme is the way young adults can't rely on their aging parents, but it's not enough to sustain this thin tale of star-crossed lovers. Commits the cardinal sin of simply being deathly dull. Awfully constructed yet entertainingly awful, After We Fell may not feel like a complete film due to its next-movie-set-up mentality, but it's likely to keep the fanbase satisfied in spite of all its exasperating faults. After We Fell is the pulpy, melodramatic and messy continuation of Tessa and Hardin's story that may appeal to diehard fans, but no one else. Should come with a warning to viewers: contains extremely boring sex. Reduced to the now classic series of outbursts of anger by Hero Fiennes-Tiffin. Director Castille Landon brings what the After fandom loves into this romantic and fiery film led with committed performances from two leads!!
