TRAVEL TO MOVIES: THE MIDNIGHT SKY

Director: George Clooney
Cast: George Clooney , Felicity Jones , David Oyelowo Tiffany Boone , Sophie Rundle , Demián Bichir , Caoilinn Springall , Kyle Chandler , Ethan Peck , Tim Russ , Jamie Schneider...
Plot: This post-apocalyptic tale follows Augustine, a lone scientist in the Arctic races to contact a crew of astronauts returning home to a mysterious global catastrophe.

My Movie Review: The movie is mostly a bore with such visual premise that didn't do much! The Midnight Sky is a good example of a movie that sells itself short by trying to be one thing as serious, heavy, emotional when by all avail indicators, it should be more of a thriller or more ridiculous at the very least more fun instead of fighting against the current it should just flowing! For those who also appreciate the more plausible space sci-fi storylines, the story was bit slow at first, but the grim circumstances of the plot, a single survivor at an Arctic research station of an Extinction Level Event made the pace appropriate, things goes south after seeing the child:( George Clooney's The Midnight Sky is a sad, quietly effective apocalypse drama that keep us going though much of Clooney's direct new film feels familiar it still packs an emotional punch:) It is an absolutely gorgeous movie to watch, but other than that, it doesn't have much appeal. This talented group of actors seems to be wasted in a boring film that just isn't worth watching!!

Critics Consensus: The Midnight Sky lacks the dramatic heft to match its narrative scale, but its flaws are often balanced by thoughtful themes and a poignant performance from director-star George Clooney. This is an odd movie overall. The pacing is slow in the space sequences I started wishing for Darth Vader to turn up and the music by dual Oscar Winner Alexandre Desplat, is overbearing. The Midnight Sky shines with Clooney's deep and abiding belief in the human condition, in compassion too Catholic. Rather, in connection, even if it is brief, even if it is seem one-sided. A beyond-bleak post-apocalyptic thriller, the sci-fi film reaches a reasonably satisfying finish, but follows an uneven orbit in getting there. The two-hour running time seems like two years as it drags on indefinitely. George Clooney stars in this space parable that starts out well, then goes adrift. I felt like I'd seen it before, such is the familiarity of its plot and most ambitious scenes! As a director' Clooney is able to summon moments of overpowering wonder!

TRAVEL TO MOVIES: AFTER WE COLLIDED

Director: Roger Kumble
Cast: Josephine Langford , Hero Fiennes Tiffin , Dylan Sprouse , Rob Estes , Candice King , Shane Paul McGhie , Pia Mia , Selma Blair , Charlie Weber , Samuel Larsen , Louise Lombard
Plot: Tessa finds herself struggling with her complicated relationship with Hardin; she faces a dilemma that could change their lives forever. Tessa has everything to lose. Hardin has nothing to lose except her. After We Collided life will never be the same. After a tumultuous beginning relationship, Tessa and Hardin were on the path to making things work. Tessa knew Hardin could be cruel, but when revelation is dropped about the origins of their relationship and Hardin's mysterious past Tessa is beside herself.

My Movie Review: The movie is like a ferris wheel rather than a roller coaster there’s a lot of ups and downs not as intense as the first one this time its calmer than expected we want more! After We Collided has more layers and elements but the first one felt more solid and just simply intense one of best quote is ‘just because he doesn’t love you the way you want him to doesn’t mean he doesn’t love you with everything he has’ as for drug material there's drinking in the movie but no heavy drug use there is also swearing kids in the modern day world are exposed! It gets a bit hot and steamy in some scenes but not memorable there is some partying as well yet what I'm remembering is the angst and pain of the first when its raining and Tessa went to the bar at night where Hardin and his friends hangout and the girl she's got jealous with this second doesn't have those moments there's barely any levity or fun to be had here and it's difficult to be invested in a film that relentlessly attempts to glamourize an abusive relationship!!

Critic Reviews: After We Collided is riddled with clichés and tired young adult tropes, but its dramatic romance and laughable dialogue offers some escapist fun. American "Afternators" will no doubt be similarly pleased with this slightly campier continuation of the series. For everyone else, there's not enough innovation to make the second installment a worthwhile jumping-on point. Fifty Shades Light but if you're a fan of the books I'm sure you're going to love it. Director Roger Kumble brings this second installment of Anna Todd's series to life in a way fans of the books have been dreaming about for years. Only meant for its young targeted audience that has the stomach for such tripe. After We Collided doesn't earn a place in the so-bad-it's-good category it aspires. A series of half-digested movie tropes regurgitated by Google Rom-dram. "After" was merely awful. "After We Collided" is atrocious. Worse than the first? A little bit. Too moronic to work as a serious romantic drama and too boring to work as straightforward sleaze!
