TRAVEL TO MOVIES: ESCAPE ROOM

Director: Adam Robitel
Cast: Taylor Russell , Logan Miller , Jay Ellis , Tyler Labine , Deborah Ann Woll , Nik Dodani , Jessica Sutton , Yorick Van Wageningen , Bart Fouche , Russell Crous , Cornelius Geaney Jr.
Plot: Six adventurous strangers travel to a mysterious building to experience the escape room -- a game where players compete to solve a series of puzzles to win $10,000. What starts out as seemingly innocent fun soon turns into a living nightmare as the four men and two women discover each room is an elaborate trap that's part of a sadistic game of life or death must play.

My Movie Review: The movie is splatter of adrenaline starts strong left us feel claustrophobia! Escape Room is a modern take on jigsaw puzzle films with series of clues to solve and survive in time yet this time more challenging act and less predictable others might felt disappointment with their unreasonable high standards but I'm deeply satisfied and exceeded my expectations! The leads started weak and come off as less part of the pack turns out their stronger than your perception on them with good teaser at the first scene you thought wrong and must watch out:) Nik Dodani and Jay Ellis standout in very different reasons one with too much familiarity on the game while the other one in his physical attributes with his strong build and statue brawn body! The future of this film might not be realize with low ratings and mixed reviews but if someone put an effort in pursuing a sequel I will definitely see it I enjoy every bit as it end with possibility!

Critics Consensus: A welcome addition to the small sub-genre of horror films where people don't act stupidly under extreme duress. Escape Room fails to unlock much of the potential in, what's left is still tense and thrilling enough to offer a passing diversion for suspense fans. A cutthroat little thriller that's surely more fun than most of the riddle-solving lock-ins currently springing up around the country. During the final half hour, everything that's compelling about this low-budget thriller collapses in a miasma of idiocy. Robitel does get credit for laying out an impressive set piece acts one and two that make you eager to play this game again. I was surprise how engage I became in the story and the characters, you'll be wondering what they need to do to escape each room. Nifty, nasty high-concept horror, with dabs of Saw and Final Destination. Escape Room a perfect film? Hardly but delivers on what thriller should deliver on!
