TRAVEL TO MOVIES: THE GREAT WALL

Director: Zhang Yimou
Cast: Matt Damon , Andy Lau , Willem Dafoe , Pedro Pascal , Eddie Peng , Wang Junkai , Jing Tian , Huang Xuan , Lu Han , Zhang Hanyu , Lin Gengxin , Kai Zheng , Yu Xintian
Plot: Set in the 15th century, the film follows soldiers who are in search of gunpowder and come across the Great Wall of China as it is being constructed by the Chinese. The soldiers then discover that the huge wall is not only built to keep the Mongolians from invading, but also to keep out supernatural creatures.

My Movie Review: The movie is a visual treat when it comes to the arrows and monsters. The Great Wall is a typical blockbuster that you will enjoy for sure just with Chinese touch. From the colorful costume to the gathering of monstrous creatures make a big impression. Matt Damon looks good in a weird hairdo and the rest of the cast looks ravishing too but come to think of it there's no much soul and no character to root for its all about the looks!

More Description: The Great Wall is a fantasy action-adventure directed by Zhang Yimou which tells the story of an elite force making a valiant stand for humanity on the world’s most iconic structure. The first English-language production for Yimou is the largest film ever shot entirely in China. When a mercenary warrior (Matt Damon) is imprisoned within the Great Wall, he discovers the mystery behind one of the greatest wonders of the world. As wave after wave his quest for fortune turns into a journey toward heroism as he joins a huge army of elite warriors to confront the unimaginable and seeming unstoppable forces.
